Music Ministry

Adult Choir

Although during this Covid-19 period the Adult Choir has not been active, the Choir usually sings every Sunday morning.

Weekly choir also is usually at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday evenings in the Music Suite to prepare for our worship services.  You do not have to audition to become a member of our Sanctuary Choir.  If you can make a joyful noise and want to help lead the congregation in worship, you are welcome when things get back to normal!

Participation in the choir provides an opportunity for you to belong to a group of people who are being discipled as worship leaders in a choir setting.  Our choir music varies from arrangements of time-tested hymns of the faith to new music written for today’s culture.  You will have a rewarding and challenging time learning the significance about the music we sing and enjoying fellowship with other choir members each week!

For further questions, please contact John Boozer at jboozer@northshelbybaptist.org or by calling the church office.

. . . I will sing to the LORD, I will sing; I will make music to the LORD, the God of Israel. (Judges 5:3)

North Shelby Baptist Orchestra

During normal times, the orchestra is present Sunday mornings helping lead our congregation in worship. North Shelby’s orchestra usually practices on Wednesday nights at 5:30 in the Sanctuary.  Currently, a small part of the orchestra is accompanying our hymns and these people practice the Wednesday night before they play in church.

Our orchestra consists of members ranging from 9th grade to adults. We have a variety of woodwind and brass instruments, percussion and string instruments.

For more information about our orchestra, please contact John Boozer at jboozer@norhshelbybaptist.org, or call the church office.
