North Shelby Baptist Church would like to welcome you and your child to our church. It is our desire to minister to your child’s spiritual, physical, and emotional needs. In NSBC Kids our motto is “Aim for Jesus.” We strive to “Aim for Jesus” in everything we do through Bible study, missions, discipleship, singing, and serving others. This ties into our church’s mission statement which is “Loving God. Loving One another. Sharing Jesus with the world”.
NSBC Kids is open to bed babies up to 5th graders. Our rooms are divided by age and staffed by trained and loving caregivers who have completed background checks. We are committed to providing a warm, caring, and secure environment for your child. Sundays Mornings
8:00/10:30 Worship Services – Childcare and Bible lessons are provided for bed babies through Kindergartners. A worship guide/activity page that coincides with our Pastor’s message is located in the foyer of the church on the “I Got The Message!” display to help our first through fifth graders stay engaged during the service. At the end of the service, return the clipboard to the designated box and return the completed worship guide/activity page with your child’s name on it in the “I Got The Message!” box. We will have a drawing at the end of each month for a prize for a boy and a girl. (Our NSBC Kids monthly newsletter is also provided.)
9:15 Sunday School – NSBC Kids study God’s Word with Gospel Project for Kids curriculum from Lifeway. It’s more than a story—it’s good news! Children of all ages dive deep into the big story of the Bible—God’s plan to rescue His people through His Son, Jesus Christ!

5:00-7:00 KidVenture: Journey to Knowing Jesus More!
Children in Grades 1 – 5: Our first – fifth graders investigate what the Bible says about worship, while learning new hymns, and continuing to learn about music and choir. They continue their journey with Jesus with Bible studies that contain fun activities and games that lead them to knowing Jesus more.
Preschool 3 – Kindergarten: Preschoolers worship Jesus through high energy songs, Bible stories, crafts, activities, games, snack and playtime!
Babies – 2 year olds: Our precious little ones are cared for by wonderful adults who make sure little ones are safe and loved!
*All adults who serve in NSBC Kids have background checks.
Wednesday Evenings
6:15 TeamKID Do you know who is Setting the Pace? In every race, athletes need a pacesetter. In Life, Jesus sets the pace for how we should live. Through Bible Study, Recreation, and Missions , TeamKID helps kids know that Jesus is the one they should follow!
Exploring Christianity for Kids
First Step: What is a Christian? Class is a one time class for kids that helps them answer questions about becoming a Christian.
Content covered included questions about God, Jesus, Sin, The Gospel, Becoming a Christian, Heaven, Baptism, and the Lord’s Supper. Children will take home a “What is a Christian” activity book that includes a parent section that equips parents to have conversations with children who are asking questions about the gospel.
Next Step: New Believers Class is for children who have made a decision to follow Jesus. It teaches them how to follow Jesus’ example, how to share their testimony, and even more about what it means to be a believer of Jesus Christ. Activity Books are included that serve as an excellent and comprehensive study for helping children understand the decision they have made and what it means to live a Christian life. The Activity Books focus on topics that include daily information and application activities.
Topics covered include Baptism, The Lord’s Supper, Being a Church Member, and Developing a Quiet Time.
One time classes will usually be held once a month throughout the year on Sunday evenings from 5:00 – 7:00.

VBS 2023: Twists and Turns!
Join the fun on June 12 – 16 from 9:00am – Noon as we spin the spinner, beat the clock, skip ahead, level up, and play to win! You’ll need to bring your A-game for this VBS. Twists & Turns is a fantastical celebration of games of all kinds. From classic tabletop games to video games and more, kids will play their way through VBS while learning that Jesus guides them through all the twists and turns of their lives. They’ll find that even when they mess up it’s never “game over.” Click on the link for your VBS Registration form, fill it out and mail or bring it to the church office, children’s ministry office, or the children’s check-in desk.
