Preschool Curriculum
We are very excited about an update being made for the new school year! This change will allow Tiny Blessings to continue to provide foundational skills for students heading to traditional public and private schools as well as those that will transition to a homeschool setting. For the upcoming school year, we are introducing a curriculum with a Christian worldview emphasized throughout. While it is considered to be classical in organization, it takes a gentler approach in the daily lessons by utilizing Charlotte Mason methods and unit studies. Each day at Tiny Blessings will include activities and lessons arranged into four educational building blocks: spiritual growth, academic skills, nature studies, and fine arts.
ACADEMIC SKILLS
Engaging, age-appropriate learning experiences are thoughtfully planned to foster a love of learning while developing foundational academic skills. Children are introduced to pre-reading skills such as letter recognition, phonetic sounds, narration, and storytelling; mathematics concepts including shapes, patterns, counting, matching and sorting, and number recognition; and pre-writing skills through fine motor strengthening and pincer and tripod grasp practice. Students also build listening, comprehension, and critical thinking skills through read-alouds from “living books” and hands-on learning experiences.
Fine arts & handicrafts
From the youngest to the oldest classes, children are introduced to fine art and music while being encouraged to explore creativity through hands-on experiences, including picture study of great artists, listening to great composers, and imitating the great masters through art projects.
nature study
Children regularly spend time outdoors to encourage a greater understanding and appreciation of the world God created through activities such as nature walks, nature drawing and watercolor, leaf identification and collection, caring for a raised-bed vegetable garden, and observing the growth of butterflies and tadpoles.
Spiritual Growth
Every child will participate in activities designed to help them begin building a relationship with God through weekly chapel services, Bible stories, Scripture memory through music, songs and hymns, and prayer.
