This past Sunday on October 20th we had our annual Fall Festival. We had hayrides, inflatables, games, candy, a train, hotdogs, chili, cotton candy, popcorn, candy, candy, and more candy. This event was so much fun and it is a great way to show God’s love to our community. Thank you so much to everyone who helped, it would not happen without you. This year we had 162 members, 319 visitors, and 115 volunteers. These are only the people who registered so I am sure there were at least 100 that didn’t register. Wow isn’t that amazing that we were able to share the Gospel with that many people! Thank you so much for showing your support towards this event whether you volunteered your time, gave candy, chili, mowed the grass, helped with parking, put up a yard sign, or told a friend. You were a huge part of this event and I am so grateful for your servant heart! Hebrews 6:10 says, “God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help Him.”
During the dinner times I told people the reason that we have this event is to share the Gospel with people within our community. Our prayer booth definitely did this throughout the entire night. Way to go GO Team (Gospel Outreach Team)! This team prayed for people during the night and shared the Gospel as well. Whenever I passed by their booth people had their heads down praying to the Lord. It was fantastic!
Also, during the dinner portion I shared the Gospel by talking about the movie “Finding Nemo”. If you were not able to hear it I will give a little recap. “Finding Nemo” is about a son, Nemo, who disobeys his father Marlin by touching a boat, even when he is told not to. After Nemo touches the boat a snorkeler captures him and takes him away. Marlin, scared for his son, goes after him. Marlin goes on a crazy journey to find his son by meeting a new friend Dory, running into some sharks, swimming with turtles, and jumping on jellyfish. Marlin eventually finds his son Nemo and they live happily ever after.
Our story is similar to Nemo and Marlin’s. We have disobeyed our Heavenly Father because of our sins and now we are lost just like Nemo was. God desires for us to be with Him so bad that He sent His one and only Son Jesus to come and die on the cross for our sins. John 3:16 reads, “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son that whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.” If you want to be a Christian and live in Heaven with God then you have to 1. Admit you are a sinner, 2. Believe that Jesus is God’s Son, and 3. Confess your faith in Jesus as your Savior and you’re your Lord. After I shared the truth of the Gospel two children came and professed their faith in Jesus Christ. That is so exciting because it is the reason that we have these events. We want people to come to know the Lord as their personal Savior. Thank you again for your help at this event!
